Each Graphorn won't go down without a fight, and only one will spawn at a time, greatly slowing down the process in fact, sometimes, Hogwarts Legacy's Graphorn dens can be empty altogether. While it's certainly better than dishing out hundreds of Galleons, doing so won't be easy. Conversely, students can get their hands dirty and seek out additional Graphorns. However, Ellie Peck in Hogsmeade, Indira Wolff in Pitt-Upon-Ford, and Padraic Haggarty in Irondale will all require a hefty 700 Galleons for a single horn, which isn't exactly the greatest deal. Of course, players can take the easy route and simply purchase their Graphorn Horns from various bestiaries across the Highlands. Thus, they aren't likely to find the ground-locked, unfamiliar Graphorn an overly appealing option. In the time that it took them to do so, they will have already grown accustomed to their favorite broom or flying mount.
By the time witches and wizards get the opportunity to encounter and tame their own Graphorn, Lord of the Shore, they'll have practically conquered the main campaign. If unlocking the Graphorn in Hogwarts Legacywas easier or more immediately available to players, it would greatly help its case - but unfortunately, it's only possible during one of the game's last quests. It's inherently easier to soar over obstacles, enemies, and structures than it is to run through and around them, which can make the Graphorn much less satisfying to use than other mounts. Indeed, the Graphorn can travel across the open world at a respectable speed, even running over any enemies in its path, but its main pitfall lies in that it can't actually fly, basically rendering it useless against Hogwarts Legacy's large roster of conversely avian beasts. While they're one of the coolest creatures to inhabit the wizarding world, they actually serve little to no purpose within the confines of the game. Sadly, Graphorns are the worst mount in Hogwarts Legacy.
